Does the Foundation consider grant requests from communities as far away as Wimberley?
Yes, the Austin Community Foundation serves Austin and the surrounding area. While the surrounding area is not strictly defined, ACF has and will consider grant requests from Wimberley, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, Burnet, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Lockhart, Elgin, Bastrop, Burnet and Manor.
For the Travis fund (college fund for children), what percentage goes to the children and what percentage goes to administrative costs? Also may our employees contribute from Amarillo?
All of the money contributed to the Travis Fund will go to provide educational support for the children. The organizers have gotten specific contributions to help with the small amount of out-of-pocket expenses of the fund. The Austin Community Foundation's administrative fee will not exceed $100 per year and may be less. Yes, the Foundation accepts contributions to the Travis Fund from anyone.
